Life brings many challenges, and it is understandable that at times we might look for support in facing them. As a German and English speaking therapist I offer a safe space to slow down and examine what might feel an overwhelming and tangled load of thoughts and feelings; stand by your side to make sense of external and internal pressure that life seems to throw at you; and help process significant life events.
Having lived away from my country of birth for many years, I am particularly interested in the impact of culture, family and social norms on our sense of identity and wellbeing. Gaining awareness of what makes a person perceive, feel, think and do something is an important aspect of what happens in therapy. Together we explore how you´ve become the unique human that you are, including what is important to you and daily struggles that may get in the way of enjoying your life more fully.
Born and schooled in Germany, I also lived, worked and raised my children in Asia and the UK where I trained as a psychotherapist.
Being bilingual in German and English often feels helpful in the work with people who reach out for support when they live away from their home country.
I hold a Masters degree and a practitioner diploma in Gestalt psychotherapy.
I work holistically which means understanding a person as part of their wider context as well as creating their personal thoughts, feelings and physical sensations. I also work with individual clients, couples and groups.
Speak in confidence
Therapy takes place in a safe space, where you can meet with someone who will listen with sensitivity and empathy. Through our sessions I hope you experience feeling seen, heard and understood, just as you are. And to feel safe enough to express your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. If you don´t have words we find a way.
The therapeutic relationship
The therapeutic relationship is a safe container to explore:

People come to me for help a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported by a therapist:
